Amazing city...

Friday 28th of January  till 1st of  February 2011

Hampi was awesome !! Together with Rosie, Honnor and Laura went for a long weekend to Hampi (city surrounded by rocks and hills)...we took the bus on friday 28/01 around 6.30 pm in Mapusa. We arrived in Mapusa a little earlier because we wanted to send some stuff home..we all had a ienieminie package + 10kg !! The post office(for sendings) close at 3pm...we were there at 3.15 pm...and when you ask some info how to do, how much it will cost, how long it will take...they didn't answer, aren't friendly at all....so there we were with all our stuff not even packed yet (and we had  to take the bus to Hampi, not possible to go back home to drop everything...!! Outside in front of the post office there was a place for packaging, but closed....there was a phone number so we called the man...and yes he came back to pack for us !! And he even hold them untill we were back from our weekend !! That was so friendly !!

So time to go....the bus left on time, waauuw, really rare here in India !! it was a 11hours trip in a sleeper bus...we arrived in hampi around 5.30 am, was still dark.....so we took a rikshaw to look for some guesthouses around the main bazaar.......checked in and immediately started our journey. Sun was just coming up.........everywhere in town we had beautiful views. From the hill we overvieuw the city and saw big stones everywhere, was like in an adventure movie. Hampi was very crowded because of the last day of a temple festival, so lot of Indian tourists. For the festival there were some dancers, music players, everybody dressed up even the elephants................ The next day rosie and Honnor left to continue their holiday up north. I stayed one more night with Laura. In the afternoon we walked to the other side to visit more places and temples, was more quiet...at the end of the day we came by a river and decided to make a boat trip ( in a big wicker basket..... ) was so peaceful..and we had a beautiful sunset !! Monday morning we decided to wake up early to climb the hill on big rocks...sometimes a little scary without any security and  there you are on a big rock with only a deep underground next to you...but it was it all worth ... we had an amazing view of the entire city at sunrise !! We stayed a while, sat down, meditated and enjoyed..!! By the time we were back in the city it was already warm and after our climb we deserved a good breakfast....nice fresh fruit with muesli, curd and honey....That day we had to take the bus back at 5.30pm so we still had time to visit more. To see the maximum we took a rikshaw for a 3 hours city tour...saw a lot of archeological sites and monuments...made some beautiful pics...really nice ! Now you can't imagine how it looks like but i'll show you the pics and you will understand that it was Awesome !!
